Hello Fedi Friends!

This week I won’t be able to publish a new article for my series #TheFutureIsFederated – I’m traveling with family, moving on to a new location and I won’t have the luxury of grandparents helping out with my toddler 🥲

Next week I’m back with my family in Italy and I look forward to adding a new chapter to the series.

First I will write an addendum to the original Friendica post, showing things I didn’t have time to include (because that post took 12 minutes to read!) Expect this on or around August 22nd.

After that: #Lemmy will be in the spotlight. I’m currently testing out Lemmy and its integrations with the Fediverse… planning to publish a post about this topic on August 29th or 30th.

A HUGE thank you for all your kind words and support, I’m delighted to hear my series has been resonating with you 💗

As always, you can read all the blog posts for The Future is Federated and sign up for new posts at this link: blog.elenarossini.com/tag/fedi… 🚀

Possibly you could point out the similarities between Lemmy and kbin/mbin as well, since they all are doing something similar.

@Michael Vogel Thanks for pointing this out Michael. I heard that sadly Kbin is no longer an active project - people online keep referring to Mbin as its successor: reddit.com/r/kbin/comments/1dm…

Spoiler alert: after only a day of testing out interoperability between Lemmy <- -> Mastodon I am NOT impressed at all. There are lots of obvious flaws and quirks I don’t like. So I’m thinking of maybe turning my focus to Piefed.social instead… and if I don’t enjoy it either, I will do Mbin.

At Friendica we had to apply some changes to make the communication with Lemmy work. But now it seems to work really fine.
