WHAT?! 😮
#Threads just took a page out of #Bluesky’s book and implemented a custom feeds feature.
So basically, Threads now has Bluesky’s major selling point—which is choose-your-own-algorithm.
Man, I wish Threads would open source this feature so other #ActivityPub-enabled software could take advantage of this. But maybe someone else coughMastodoncough could make this happen.

in reply to Ben Ramsey • • •@ramsey Okay, let me put it another way. I wish Threads was open source. Full stop.
But failing that, publish how the details on how this works with #ActivityPub. That is, if it works with ActivityPub.

That feature was a big reason firefish.social struggled to run.

in reply to Chris Trottier • • •do they told this themselves? They aren't reliable source about their own traffic, you know what I mean?
I haven't seen Threads having any presense on fedi, and it was supposed to be federated. If there is anybody using it, we would definitely see at least _some_ traffic coming from it.

Now unfortunately, I’m not sure if my comments get seen on #Threads.
