Feed Curation Help

!Friendica Support
I'm trying to help my partner curate a feed. Given that I'm easily the most active user on this node much of the global feed is, well... nerd stuff. I've subscribed her to some kbin groups that are in line with some of her interests, but it seems that everything I so much as like appears in her feed as well, cluttering it quite a bit.

I have her followed content scope set to: "Conversations my follows started or commented on (default)" so I don't see why this is happening. I could set it to "only conversations my follows started", but I worry that would prevent her to see things posted to the groups she's subscribed to.

If she is subscribed to groups, then she'll see the postings to the groups in the stream. To counteract the nerd stuff a bit, you could follow a relay server and subscribe only to tags that match her interests but not your nerd stuff. Those postings will then show up on the Global Stream as well.

@Tobias What's really puzzling me is why the stuff I've only liked shows up in her feed when it's supposed to only be things posted or commented on.

@Jonathan Lamothe A like is considered as a comment in the timeline setting. Technically, they are both replies to posts, we just render them differently.

@Jonathan Lamothe A reshare is a top-level post referencing another one. A like is a special reply to a post.

@Hypolite Petovan In light of this, someone may want to review the behavior of Followed content scope under Settings ➡️ Social Networks ➡️ General Social Media Settings

Edit for clarification: Under the default config, the last two options are functionally identical.

@Jonathan Lamothe Huh, I didn’t realize there were three distinct options, so they should be differentiated.

@Tobias Should this be a top level setting, or under "config"?

@Tobias I have set it in config/local.config.php but new likes still seem to be showing up in her timeline. Do I need to change it in static/defaults instead? It was my understanding that config/local.config.php existed to prevent merge conflicts during update.

@Tobias Also, should it be set to "true" or true? I set it to the latter as the line you linked had an unquoted boolean value. My knowledge of PHP is somewhat lacking, so perhaps they're equivalent?

Also, sorry for being such a pest about this...

@Tobias I'm out and about right now, but will do as soon as I have access to something with a pointing device.
