It might be pleasurable, not to mention profitable, to establish a #GitCoin as a means to reward those who put in their time and effort to seek out #bugs in #OpenSource repositories published on #GitHub.

Also, an open-source, from-the-ground-up implementation of #cryptocurrency in Erlang using OTP might be fun, useful, and instructive.

Can you name a single coin-as-reward that wasn't a rugpull that cost more developer hours than it motivated?

I highly doubt such a thing would be useful or profitable (unless you are a scammer).

@BoydStephenSmithJr Learning to implement the cryptocurrency protocol is a valuable education for young programmers. Learning is fun, and the knowledge gained is the profit of the best kind.

Disagree, having been young, been an educator, and learned to write smart contracts in Plutus, tho not all at the same time.

It's not valuable education, and the knowledge gained is a net negative.

Some people have ideas of fun that strike me as perverse, so I can't say it won't be fun.

I’m happy to hear your differing perspectives. For me, learning to implement communication protocols, file formats, encryption algorithms, and the like is fun, especially in a language like Erlang, which was designed expressly for that purpose. And it is my view that there is no such thing as a bad knowledge, only bad ways to apply some knowledge.

At the risk of starting the obvious, I enjoy our discussions. To my recollection, my arguments have never changed your positions. Still, our chats always leave me something of value to me. Thanks, mate.
