I just spent a little over an hour trying to figure out how to safely capture an extremely angry wasp in my room before I finally gave up and used bug spray on it, and I feel pretty bad about it.
How can I handle this in the future without killing the bug?
I know the glass + paper trick and I've used it before for smaller bugs, but I'm too much of a coward to get close to a bug that really, really is not interested in me getting close to it.

In my old apartment I would open the window and herd the bug out of it, but now I'm on an upper floor and none of the window screens in my room open anymore.
I need some way of capturing them that doesn't involve my face being next to them. There were a few moments where the wasp was still, I feel like if I had something taped to a stick.
I suspect using a vacuum attachment would still probably kill them.
