FederalVerse, is there a way that I, a mere GentleHacker who does not administer my instance, can follow a specific server?
I ask because @ash and @phocks administer a lovely server based on the city where I live and I would like to see more posts from the folks there, and I'm not currently sure how to make that happen.

I what solution would you recommend for a Digital Signage solution, that is free, opensource and can manage multiple devices/raspberry pis?
It will be used for a couple of days during LAN events, to publish information, leaderboards, stream and stuff.

Scenario: I write a post (possibly including pictures) and instead of publishing immediately it should be stored and published at a later point in time.
Interactive/GUI-based tools are good, but scripts and automatable CLI-programs are also appreciated.
Let's assume an instance that implements Mastodon's API.
❓ Does anyone know a website/service that lists special space events?
💫 Like rocket launches, the Perseids, eclipses, the T Coronae Borealis event, and things like that.
🤩 Bonus points for links to more information (e.g. NASA live streams), or if the website is parsing-friendly or has an RSS feed. Ideally without requiring signup.

🤔 Rationale:
Most web hosters I know still use that kind of technology for their cheap tier, non-static offers. That typically does not include technology like Docker, Node, etc.
Having some project filling that niche would lower the bar for people to get their own instance (incl. domain).

How does it happen when someone has an Mastodon account with no posts yet the total post count says otherwise? I've tried going directly to the account instance and same results. For that matter even following and followers show up empty. Scam/spam account?

OK, so in the general scheme of the UK falling apart (eat turnips, don't protest, be poor) there is a distinctly non-zero chance that the Signal messaging app may no longer be available.
We are well aware of it's limitations, but compared to the Meta ecosystem having our social graph, it's quite usable for family and friends.
So, what's a good alternative?
Have half an eye on Briar, which we haven't used for a while, but is seemingly in active development.
Primarily access via Android, as most people we know are on there for mobile use. Linux desktop access would be good too.
Security is in the privacy interest, not protection from state actors, though security is good, we need to onboard non-geeks.
Boosts and suggestions welcome.
We are in no hurry, but just looking to be prepared.
