Already, [[Peer Into the Abyss]] loses you friends, but damn. Do that plus [[Seizan, Perverted of Truth]], and they start their turn with 1/8th their previous health.
(Edit: less than that, even, because there's also 6 damage mixed in.)
Like yeah, it's a 5-drop, and yeah, it's really subject to removal, but in casual to somewhat challenging Commander it definitely would present a player with something they need to answer.
On the other hand, creature removal is more common than enchantment removal, and it makes for fun politics where you throw that on the biggest threat, then someone else swings a 1/1 flier across to take then down by half.
@zkat It's definitely one of those cards you play when you have too many friends. Especially in a deck that has an engine for reliably producing hits for one point of damage each.
@zkat My Sheoldred commander is one of those that either wins hands-down or gets completely wiped out, depending on whether I can keep creatures long enough to make the group bear hug worth it.
[[Greivous Wound]] would, if the ramp is there for it, dramatically shorten the time needed for the group bear hug. Puts the deck on an exponential curve in one bloody card.
