@rasterweb Last episode of TAS that I watched had a character who had "used his vast personal fortune" to do great good. I kept yelling at the TV “fortuine? There's no money!”

@FozzTexx Star Trek's always been a little squishy on the concept of money. It doesn't exist... except when it does.

Sadly, the different Star Trek series have been wildly inconsistent on this point. The series Picard established that there was still significant wealth inequality on Earth, as Raffi pointed out when Picard found her living in a shack, and there are a lot of references to Picard's personal wealth and his financing things.
