These dice are perfect for playing Backgammon, DnD, and Mexicali.

When you are stoned out of your mind.

( Who had these made? RFKJr...? )

in reply to Cat ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿฅ— (D.Burch)

they're not just hard to read. the numbers are also distributed um, unconventionally across the sides of the dice, disregarding that opposite sides should always add up to 7.

Even though they're weird in a way, the opposite side's numbers should add up to 7. The 2nd and the 3rd dice from the top are bad apples. BAD!

LOL having just rebuilt one of those to replace a dead burner, that's just frustrating because IT WOULD BE SO EASY TO FIX

in the old days those cooktops would glow blue as photographed by early digital cameras. Ice blue.
in reply to groxx

@groxx This is even more evil than it seems since the keys are now shaped wrong for their positions...
in reply to Nazo

@nazokiyoubinbou I imagine typing on it probably feels like the equivalent of biting styrofoam. Wrong on every possible level.
@Nazo
in reply to groxx

@groxx Unfortunately I can tell you that it does. As a user of a weird layout, before I went with flat low-profile keys, I had a lot of troubles with keycaps arranged in the positions I needed them in the past. One of the reasons I first decided to keep my keycaps set in the QWERTY layout even though I use Dvorak is even because of that. (The other being in case I have to actually semi-hunt and peck type QWERTY for some reason -- though I can still touch type it just a little.)

Well, they weren't turned wrong like that, but even just on the wrong rows it still felt incredibly awkward, slowed me down, and made me press the wrong keys sometimes.

wtf?? the dice are intentional, but this stove is a demonic mistake designed to hurt you!
in reply to Cat ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿฅ— (D.Burch)

I don't even have OCD, but can see how those things would cause involuntary twitching in those who do.

My ex-fiance would have banished those from the house. ๐Ÿ˜†

in reply to Cat ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿฅ— (D.Burch)

Neat!

The dot layout pattern reminded me of the countdown pattern at the end of the science fiction movie "Predator" (1987).

I would call them "Predator dice."

in reply to Cat ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿฅ— (D.Burch)

I wonder why their pattern doesnโ€™t bother me at all. I just think itโ€™s neat.

6 minutes per side at 350 F, let cool before rotating, unless you want them all drifting in the same direction. Use sous vide for a more subtle effect.
in reply to Cat ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿฅ— (D.Burch)

It took me forever to actually see the problem with these dice. I was so focused on the corners not existingโ€ฆ what does that say about my brain?

in reply to Cat ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿฅ— (D.Burch)

I wonder if it would be possible to build these, but with small e-ink-displays on the sides, and the dots continue to rumble a bit after the dice has stopped ๐Ÿ˜€
in reply to Cat ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿฅ— (D.Burch)

I see mathematics teachers making cool new questions for their in-class tests with that hehe๐Ÿ˜…

Looks like a compromise.
Or like a democracy.

It looks wrong or complicated but it is right.

in reply to Cat ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿฅ— (D.Burch)

I had a student proudly use these in a game against me with the expectation that I'd freak out, but apparently my brain processes them the same as normal dice. And theirs didn't, lmfao

Do you have a link for these images? They are a nice demonstration of the limits of the human ability to subitize and the role played by pattern recognition.
in reply to Cat ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿฅ— (D.Burch)

The worst thing about the psychic damage these dice give you, according to the Alt Text, is the fact that you have to roll this 6d6 specifically to calculate how much.
in reply to Cat ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿฅ— (D.Burch)

I've got some old dice that look like these. If you leave them in a drawer for too long, the dimples sag towards the bottom.
in reply to Cat ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿฅ— (D.Burch)

find someone who's really high and paranoid and then pull these to play. they're going to lose it

"idk they look like regular dice to me?" you say
