@Darkroux Thank you. Hehe, true. Unfortunately, my attempts are probably like grain of salt lost in the desert at the scale of 5 billions of images in a dataset. This little irregularity will get smoothed in the dataset by the large law of numbers and averaging. But I'm doing it for the sport; better to be a grain of salt than being compliant and offer on a plate my good labor. 😉

@witix Thank you, and no, you are not! I thought the visual in my first draft would work by themselves, and then I had to add the line of Amall on panel 3 to underline it, because visually, it works pretty well as it is. I added an additional ring finger, slightly smaller than the regular ring finger, but taller than the pinky. More harmonious than what I imagined when I typed this scenario.

@merryjest Great! Do not hesitate to share, I'll keep doing it directly in my comics or as articles on my blog if I find better things or new strategy.

My main inspiration is still this quote from the author of Nephentes: “I’m just fed up, and you know what? Let’s fight back, even if it’s not successful. Be indigestible. Grow spikes.” 🦔

exactly. I already try to do that with my music compositions. I show an example of why the models can't quite replicate my compositional style in this video essay I did:

Foly huck. A small story about LLMs.

For historical reasons, I have a spare cassette for road bikes and it is not compatible with any of my own bikes so I want to sell it. Decided it would be helpful for buyers to include the teeth count of the smallest and largest sprocket in the ad, and was in a lazy Saturday afternoon mood so took a picture, gave that to #chatgpt and asked it to do the counting for me. Answer: 36 teeth.

That sprocket size doesn't exist in the Shimano universe.

So I tried to verify its count by asking it to add an increasing number next to every tooth. It complied, and the numbers ran from 1-36. That pictures is included below. You can stop reading now, look at the picture and count along.

If your ADD is not too bad, you'll notice it skipped 18, so we have 35 teeth. Not 36.

However that also doesn't exist in the Shimano universe.

Being as confused as the average republican, I demanded a #recount! It told me 36 again.

Sigh. Decided to do a manual recount while holding the sprocket in my hand. 28. That is a valid size.

Then I looked at the photo with counts again. Turns out the clanker took my original photo as inspiration, and fabricated a photo of a sprocket with 35 teeth. I am not sure what triggered it to do that and I do not want to know.

Your average #LLM is still as bad at counting as they were a year ago. Maybe worse.

Also, do not invest in that stuff ok?

@OliviaVespera Yes, you are right, it can feel extreme without the context. Check the arc of episodes starting at 64 here peppercarrot.com/en/webcomics/… to understand her deeper motivations.

@aria The plan is to make it permanent. But I totally have no idea what type of feedback it will get, in five episode ahead, when the new audience forgot this episode and wonder why. Will they blame the artist for using AI? For being bad at anatomy when they notice it on one panel? This can backfire seriously, and I have no idea how much right now.
If I revert it at one point (possible, thanks to a world with magic) I'll address it at least with a dialog.

@luna 💜 Thank you very much. It took an extra time, in comparison to episodes without this type of painting and work on the background, but I felt really happy about it (especially because panel one is the thumbnail on the gallery peppercarrot.com/en/webcomics/… )

That's why I also took time to paint a complex background on the new one I published on Wednesday.
