Have you noticed a lot of titles are gone from #Steam and #Itchio?

This is because Visa and Mastercard are now gonna decide what can be sold and what not and companies like Steam and Itch can only comply

It may start with NSFW content but it will not end there..

Visa and MC have long been careful with porn. I don't think it will go any further. All these porn games are rubbish.

We need a European alternative to these systems, because Visa/MC are not ‘good’, but in this case I don't see a problem

Yep, it's Feminist Frequency 2.0, and will probably lead to another GamerGate situation.

Collective Shout, an Australian "feminist" group are responsible for this latest Moral Panic.

They're not a feminist group at all, as they're backed by and comprised of right-wing ultra-zealous & religious "conservatives".

TL;DR: The Christian Right Wing are once again trying to dictate to the world that everyone live by their "standards".

Note: Not the standards they actually live by mind you...

I don't want to live in a world where I have to rely on crypto to buy whatever I want without having to deal with corporate censorship.

The next stage is usually to categorise anything with homosexual, trans, or queer content as NSFW, even when it isn't. Not sure what's after that, but probably something racist.

Only noticed it because it was on the news.

Seems people are a bit more upset about itch.io because it also removed the downloads rather than just hiding it from the store.

It is slightly concerning as it could eventually affect some games in my library (e.g. Despotism 3K) which have sexual content but don't have it as the primary genre, and thus could be next in line.

We need an alternative card to Visa and Mastercard, it would seem.

Something outside the USA (so not just Discover or American Express).

Apparently visa & MasterCard responded to people complaining

So here's a petition to o complain the other side of the argument
