for the people that can't report on the location directly anymore, just leave the map open over the Gulf of Mexico and report a general technical issue, then use the highlighter function to highlight the broken part of the map. I have done this daily for the past three days.

Dude, please stop telling people to do this. It *actively* undermines your point.

Ok, so this sounds like a really bad idea. Hear me out:

If your first step of resistance is to *use the service that's collaborating with the nazis*, you're doing it wrong.

Every time you use google, google makes money. Stop feeding the trolls.

They don't care what you think. This opinion multiplied millions of times takes one line of SQL to destroy.

They care about your data and the money you are making for them by using them!

Stop. Using. Google.

@me It depends. In Germany the OSM data is good enough for navigation. For car navigation I use MagicEarth. It also has traffic data at least for major roads. I don't know about the OSM data quality where you live. But the good thing is: If something is wrong or missing, you can fix it!

1. Google Gulf of Mexico.
2. β€œGulf of America" will be at the head of Google’s answer.
3. Click on the three little dots to the right of β€œGulf of America”.
4. Select "Send Feedback"
5. Click on "Gulf Of America" text.
6. Select "Inaccurate content".
7. Select "Incorrect" and type in whatever text you want such as "The correct name of this body of water is β€œGulf of Mexico".

If you are international,Gulf of A will show up in parenthesis behind Gulf of M

I disabled google maps (because apparently I cannot delete it). I switched to the "Here we go" app, which is good enough, *and* it correctly identifies the Gulf of Mexico.

Apparently the cowards turned off the ability to post about the Gulf of "America" πŸ™ƒ

This was the first thing I tried to do. For Finland the name is in parentheses but you cannot report anything wrong with the name.

Seen from a European perspective, calling the Golf of Mexico after a whole continent sounds quite woke to me, as if Trump wanted Canada, Brazil and Argentina to participate, too. Itβ€˜s just not very geographically precise, Iβ€˜m afraid.

Report is not possible here in Europe - currently reviews are turned off as well - there is no possibilty to inform Google about their typo in the name "Gulf of Mexico".
