So, is it ok to talk about how us ND folk seem less susceptible to propaganda, and more likely to not conform to societal expectations, and how that makes us a threat to those who want to maintain the status quo?

In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is mobbed to death. For those who value hierarchy and the status it gives their thoughts, we will always be a threat.

It would explain a lot of recent developments, but I'm hoping they are not that smart. I'm still hoping for "picking on any minority because it's easy" or "for the evulz".

NDs have spent our entire lives doing anthropology field work in order to survive (we don't conform because we can't, not because we don't want to). Thus, we're pretty good at spotting bullshit.

nah. the group is just less interesting as a target audience, and inhomogenous enough to not work when addressed with a single message, so high effort for low return.
I'd caution that assuming one is less susceptible to one's fears and wishes being catered to in manipulative ways makes one more, not less, susceptible to propaganda.

and guess what, being used to the own desires regularly being ignored actually makes one easier to radicalize; I'd hence put a big fat [[citation needed]] on your claim ND people would be less susceptible to propaganda.

@hosford42 @funkylab hmmm that would explain why I get so confused when I see most ads and wonder how the hell that actually gets people to buy something 😂 even the especially targeted ones usually just irritate me

@hosford42 @funkylab I suspect the propaganda that we're susceptible to just hasn't been developed because we're in the minority.

@BernieDoesIt @hosford42 in a minority that has an especially hard time convincing many people of their own views, atop of that. Plus a group especially easy to label as out-group. Doesn't sound like a prime propaganda target audience!
in reply to Bernie Pridefully Does It

@Bernie Luckily Does It @Aaron @Marcus Müller @Jax UK One of the reasons for this is likely because people with autism are among the current out group being used as a scapegoat by the current batch of propagandists. They need to manufacture an enemy to justify their nonsense.

@me @hosford42 @BernieDoesIt @funkylab precisely that.

  • Hating autistic, neurodiverse, trans and nonbinary folks is accepted as hating against cisbinary gays and jewish people is political suicide.

It merely means they've shuffled order on the rw priority list tho.

  • NOONE IS SAFE!

@Marcus Müller @Jax UK Yup. If I've said it once, I've said it a million times: the easiest way to brainwash someone is to start with a person who believes themselves to be immune to brainwashing.
in reply to Jax UK

@Jax UK To be fair, I have ADHD and was in a cult for 12 years, so I'm going to say definitely susceptible to propaganda.
