I had very little awareness of Voyager, and none of Seven. I might've seen her on a magazine cover in the grocerystore or something, but didn't give it any thought. I completely quit watching tv after the TNG era.
It's been speculated that she inadvertently helped Obama become president due to her then husband's controversy.
Ah then you should definitely listen to TrekMovie/Laurie Ulster's interview of David Livingston where he says that Jeri Ryan was an intellectual. He said she was really smart and well-read.

I actually get angry when people imply Jeri was just a T&A show. Like ready to punch someone. Her acting was fantastic, and her beauty was just a value add proposition AFAIC. She'd have hated it, but I'd have fine with her being full Borg the whole time. Would've made some interesting stories if she were.

I was just thinking about how, with both Voyager & Enterprise, they felt it necessary to add sexy women to the cast (and put them in skin tight catsuits) in an effort to boost ratings - but the fact that it’s fortunate that these women also happened to be incredibly talented performers (among the best on their respective series).

I don't remember most of what I thought about the costumes. I suspect I found them pretty legit, cause that's how everything was then. The salt creature from Man Trap is the one I found scariest.
The gap from TOS-TNG is the one that aged the worst. TNG still looks pretty decent today imo. Huge strides were made in filming between the 60s & 80s.

In today's age of internet security, the handful of numeric digits is clearly not an effective password.
Maybe we can assume that there was some kind of additional layer of authentication behind the scenes, such as voiceprints based on the pronunciation of the digits...or coming in on a channel encrypted with Starfleet protocols, etc.
The computer certainly had to set up the codes so the crew could just throw the switches.
