Hey @me, wanted to ask you a question,

Have you watched Severance?

If so, does it give you any Mormon vibes?

Forget I asked if it's a touchy subject. Just thought I'd ask a relative expert (or ex-pert ;)

Just watched S2E04 "Woe's Hollow" last night, and I was getting massive Mormon vibes, particularly how one person/family's mythos affected geographic names for an entire area.

The whole Eagan cult thing very much looks like a lot of the stuff that popped up in the 1800's. Mormonism, the Oneida Community, Jehovah's Witnesses, Adventists, etc. Something must have been in the water.

@Daniel @R.L. Dane šŸµ My memory of the show is a little vague. I'll have to re-watch.

There are certainly many aspects to cults that are weirdly cookie-cutter. I just didn't remember anything that screamed Mormonism specifically.

That one episode was probably the strongest link, and also Kier Eagan as a kind of super-lionized, nearly-fully-deified Joseph Smith character.
