Forget I asked if it's a touchy subject. Just thought I'd ask a relative expert (or ex-pert ;)
Just watched S2E04 "Woe's Hollow" last night, and I was getting massive Mormon vibes, particularly how one person/family's mythos affected geographic names for an entire area.

There are certainly many aspects to cults that are weirdly cookie-cutter. I just didn't remember anything that screamed Mormonism specifically.
