I know #Android sucks in a lot of ways, but I'm tempted to get a #BOOX device as my next laptop, using Termux as my CLI.
Just get a 10" eink tablet and pair it with a BT keyboard or something. Because I don't see too many e-ink laptops out there, except for incredibly expensive ones.
Using #eInk for a laptop would be a fun exploration in minimalism, particularly if monochrome.

Do you have any control over the refresh mode? Can you, for example, set the display to dithered monochrome so that it does not require any full-screen refreshes? (basically the fastest refresh mode on the BOOX devices)

it's probably not as swanky as the BOOX thing but at least there's no years-long willful GPL violation
I have a lot of pine64 products (they're cheap) and they all mostly suck (they're cheap) but the pine note is the one I'd keep if I had to choose

Edit: As an added bonus, my tablet/phone is a lot lighter.
