TIL that my local library has a recording studio that you can book. I don't really have an immediate personal use for this, but it's pretty cool that it exists.
I know this is very first-world-problem, but now that I have my favourite #FountainPen back in working order, I had to make a tough decision about which pen gets the boot from the limited pen slots in my messenger bag. I imagine it's a bit like choosing favourites amongst one's children.

shit did really hit the fan hard this week. my mother had a terrible fight with me and my sister. she said a lot of awful stuff to both me and my sister which included telling my sister to "go and die then" when she said how just keeping alive every day is a struggle.
on thursday we went out with some friends and it started all over again when she just suspected we told them what she had done to us. she called me again many terrible names and confirmed my suspicion that me having really bad memory, specially the fact that I have almost no recollection of anything from before I was 7 years old, is just PTSD because she told us of a terrible case of my father kicking me that caused a depressive episode on her just to try and gather some fucking pity and I can't even fathom what the fuck else I forgot.
we need to move. as soon as possible. my sister has a 1 year old baby and we are actually afraid of she doing something on one of those "episodes" of her.
this current amount is to cover the expenses of buying the basics (oven, refrigerator, etc) so we could live somewhere. we don't even know if any place would even accept us because we both got bad credit but we need to try. this is impossible to keep going.

I still need to move ASAP but another pressing issue came up.
baby zap (one of my cats) got really sick. it was unable to pee. I had to take it to the vet and I had no choice other than to stay at the clinic for a couple days so that they could unblock it, run some tests and see if everything cleared up.
luckily, everything worked out. it got sent back home and it is recovering nicely (even tho the other cats seem to be mad at it for some reason) but... it all cost a lot of money. lots.
the clinic stay was a lot but I also had to buy special food and extra medicines for it and right now I have no fixed income. (family said they'd help with costs but I doubt it and I'll try and update anything they help me with).

I've got my goal for the moving funds met. I'm working on my escape plan but while at that I need to pay for my college and the monthly bills plus the vet instalments and other funds.
I've got a breather last month but I forgot to budget money for this month in advance so I don't have anything unless I tap into the saved funds for the move which I don't want to because even tho I'm planning any of my parents could flip the fuck out any moment and kick us out.

I ran out of the fancy medicinal cat food for my recovering cat last month and I wasn't able to buy more because I also ran out of litter and the normal food. I was hoping I could get some this month but the reality is that I haven't got enough even to cover my expenses and my credit card is already maxed.
I am afraid that it can get sick again and I haven't even paid the last of it's expenses yet so I've made this goal exclusively so that I can buy the food that should last me for 2 or so months.

I got a new phone because my old one was giving out on me. This one is a decided downgrade from the last one, but that's (mostly) fine.
Anyhow, the new phone doesn't support wireless charging. Because of this, I can no longer charge it on the night stand breside my bed. When I wake up in the morning, my impulse in my half-awake state is to just grab my phone and go, forgetting that it's now tethered to the wall. This was not going to end well for anyone, most especially not my charging cable/port.

I run a pretty tight budget. Twice a year, I get a fun surprise from my domain registrar (because I have two domains with them). They both come with a "free business card generator" that I have never used, but whatever.
Anyhow, every time a domain comes up for renewal, it's expected, budgeted, and paid for. All is good.

Aargh! I thought I'd worked out a system to help with my #ADHD, and it was working for a while. Unfortunately, it involved using the alarm on my watch, which my brain is now just starting to filter out as background noise.
You don't have to post yours openly. I think there are various forums for sharing in a more limited manner, i.e. direct with someone. You can find addresses and mail to them first.
Pretty sure even short hand written notes count, so you could leave some fancy notes for people in your life who you appreciate.
The argument that people are responsible for filtering their own feeds and so Content Warnings are unnecessary doesn't work when many of the ones arguing this also constantly make up new fucking nicknames for the people they're talking about, requiring the constant addition of new filters to block out unfunny snarky bullshit.

I get both sides of the CW debates and I have my own personal lines on what I find sensible or not, and on this account versus my other one I also accept that I agreed to follow certain CW rules on this instance and that's part of being a community even if I may not feel the same way on my own where I make the rules
But imo the best argument for NOT having to CW certain things is making an attempt to make sure people's word filters will work. You may not always get it right since like I said it takes a certain level of guesswork, and sometimes you just forget in the moment. But if you keep coming up with new nicknames for the worst people on earth it becomes impossible to keep up.

Hooray! I finally got my #BaystateBlue #FountainPen flowing properly again. It only took about a month of finicking with it. Now all I have to do is not leave ink to dry out in it for over a year again...
Iβm curious, what pen did you leave it to dry out in? Maybe a Preppy would be more suitable for you if youβre not going to be using this ink often?
Iβm not surprised that it was a Safari. Iβve had similar issues with ink drying out on my LAMY nibs (not as badly as Parker pens tho).
So that nib doesnβt dry out on me, Iβve started using that pen daily for journaling. Justttt in case, I also have a little water container to dip it in if it gets dry.
Okay, so I've seen a thing were people will send a box of #FountainPen ink samples around by mail from person to person. Individuals will add and remove inks from this box, recording the changes in a log book. It seems like a really cool way to get exposed to new inks, and I'd really like to participate in one of these. Is anyone doing this in Canada?
I've thought about organizing one. The trick is that I don't know how this would work without giving a bunch of random internet strangers my postal address, which I'm not sure I want to do.
