The old laptop I've converted into a server has a rather limited amount of disk space (128GB). Consequently, I tried a new backup strategy to try to conserve as much as I could. Turns out it takes like 10x as long and hoses anything that talks to a #MariaDB database while it's running. I discovered this when my #Nextcloud instance unexpectedly crashed as I was bakcing up my #Friendica node. I love a nice shot of adrenaline in the morning.
Needless to say, I've switched back to the old strategy.
