Has anyone ever successfully gotten a graphical tileset to work with the version of #DwarfFortress in the #Debian repositories?

Purchased #DwarfFortress on #Steam but I guess I wasn't paying attention. It's only available for Windows. I guess it's back to ANSI graphics rendered in an X11 window.

Don't get me wrong, I love #NetHack's lack of graphics, but primarily because I can play it over a TTY, which isn't the case here.

The steam version has fancy(?) graphics and stuff. Which, right now, targetting Windows is the best way to get it on Linux.

Most "made-for-Llinux" games on Steam use some sort of porting library. And Proton (wine) is now better than pretty much all of those. So don't feel bad using it.

@Darcy Casselman I've already requested a refund, so we'll see how that goes. I was already annoyed at being strong-armed into installing Steam in the first place. If the refund gets denied, I'll look into Proton from there.

Interestingly enough, this is not the first time I've done this dance with Steam.
