I guess with the influx of new users to the Fediverse, we're doing introductions now, so here's mine:

I'm a # and # enthusiast and developer. I'm also an # who's trying to create safe spaces for those who are recovering from high-demand control groups.

So this whole # # experiment has been a smashing success. This will be the last post I boost from my legacy accounts, and I'll be checking them with less frequency. If you've not followed the new account, now would be a good time.

I want to extend a special thanks to opencube and fosstodon for giving me my first taste of the #.

I keep getting people trying to register at my # node. It's really only intended for people I know, because I don't have the resources to run a public server. This is my registration page. I don't know how I can make it any clearer.

I can only assume that anyone I don't recognize who tries to register at this point is a spam bot.

Yes, I think you're probably right. Just ignore them. πŸ˜€

So, I set up some unofficial # accounts for some # that I listen to that don't have a presence on the Fediverse to reshare their content. It turns out that for the past couple weeks, all of the posts from those accounts have been set to private, so... not very useful.
I have remedied the issue going forward, but for those who are interested, those podcasts are:
Feel free to check them out if that's your thing.

Just finished some maintenance on my # node. I should probably have made a backup first, but everything went smoothly as expected and I apparently like to live dangerousy.

Backing up the raw footage for my # review video. I still have to edit, caption, and upload, but it should be posted within the next couple days.
So, I accidentally recorded the screen capture at 720p while the footage from the camera was in 1080p. It seems that because of this, the rendering of my video is going at a sluggish 7FPS. My ~15min video is going to take about an hour to render. πŸ™

Just set up a bunch of # accounts I was following to sync with my # node. Currently, my stream is a firehose of old tweets as everything synchronizes. Many are from the before times and are making me simultaneously nostalgic and depressed.

I mean, I knew it was from before I got married, but that was early 2015. It's shocking how quickly time seems to pass.
Yeah, exactly
It has been a weird liminal two years that distort everything

I've been trying to use # as an # reader since accidentally discovering that it could be used as such. When I compare it to my previous RSS reader, I'm noticing that the entries in my feeds are being listed in an arbitrary and incomplete order. I have no idea why.

Just noticed that you asked me to open an issue as well. I've just done so now.

Since I've opened my # node up to other people, it was time to include a Terms of Service page.

Decided it was best to keep it short and sweet.

Finally got email functionality working on my # node. Special thanks to @Hypolite Petovan, who was instrumental in helping to fix the problem.

I prefer to say I was coincidental in helping to fix the problem, Jonathan eventually figured it out on his own, I just gave him red herrings.
It wasn't without merit. You helped to rule stuff out. πŸ™‚

What is the canonical way for a user to report spam/abuse on a # node? I just realized that there doesn't seem to be a button for that.

So, subscribing to a busy subreddit using #'s # functionality might not be the best of ideas after all.

It was a bit of a fire hose.

I just learned that I can use # as an RSS reader. How did I not know any of this before?
I'd say we're better at protocol syncretism than communication?
