I guess with the influx of new users to the Fediverse, we're doing introductions now, so here's mine:

I'm a # and # enthusiast and developer. I'm also an # who's trying to create safe spaces for those who are recovering from high-demand control groups.

So this whole # # experiment has been a smashing success. This will be the last post I boost from my legacy accounts, and I'll be checking them with less frequency. If you've not followed the new account, now would be a good time.

I want to extend a special thanks to opencube and fosstodon for giving me my first taste of the #.

#: refrigeration is a really odd technology when you think about it. We're expending energy to remove thermal energy from somewhere and dump it somewhere else. It's too bad we can't use the thermal energy to power the system itself. Those pesky laws of thermodynamics are so inconvenient.
What's even weirder is that heat pumps can work in the other way to be even more efficient than straight heating. The thing about heating is that it can be more or less 100% efficient. The waste heat is ... umm ... in heat form.

But heat pumps can be (much!) more than 100% efficient, by "stealing" heat energy from the ambient environment.
@Isaac Kuo, yeah, heat pumps are basically witchcraft.

#: why aren't September, October, November, and December not the 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th months respectively?
Why would I google something when I can big people on the Internet instead? 😜
