Creamy Pesto Chicken with Buttery Orzo ๐Ÿ”

This was another fairly simple dish, yet once again, despite it's simplicity it was amazingly delicious. I worried that the garlic spice blend was going to overtake the dish, but as usual all the flavours complmented eachother so nicely.

Honey Garlic Turkey Bowls with Bok Choy and Roasted Peanuts ๐Ÿฆƒ๐Ÿง„๐Ÿฅœ

This one was definitely worth the burn I earned in the kitchen today. Awesomely enough, there was no proprietary spice blend for this one, so I could totally recreate it if I were so inclined.

I never knew couscous was such a magical entity.

Cheesy Bacon Pasta with Garlicky Broccoli ๐Ÿง€๐Ÿฅ“๐Ÿฅฆ

We kinda messed this recipe up and had to improvise a little, but it still turned out amazing. Also took a picture before plating because it looked so good coming out of the oven.

It seems that the lens on my camera was slightly smudged for the second picture. I didn't notice at the time.
Mushroom Bibimbap-Style Bowls with Sticky Rice and Gochujang Drizzle (๋น„๋น”๋ฐฅ!) ๐Ÿ„๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ท

It's been way too long since i've had Korean food... even if it was only Korean-inspired. The mushrooms made a pretty good substitute for the beef.

Kung Pao-Style Beef Bowls with Peppers and Carrots ๐Ÿ„๐Ÿซ‘๐Ÿฅ•๐Ÿ

The nice thing about this particular recipe is that it doesn't have a proprietary spice blend, so I don't have to reverse-engineer anything if I want to make it again.

I'm not sure where that apple emoji came from. There was no apple in this dish.

Now I want an apple...
Cheesy Pork Meatball Skillet with Veggies and Orzo ๐Ÿง€๐Ÿ–

I somehow managed to sear the meatballs to perfection. This has to be one of the more flavourful dishes I've ever had.

Got to try out another vegetarian dish. I could get used to eating like this.

Confession: I put more parmesan on the dish afterward. It just looked better like this for the picture.

BBQ-Spiced Chicken Sandwiches with Oven Wedges and Slaw ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿฅช๐Ÿฅ”

Getting a little more confident diverging from the recipe on the card. Historically, our wedges have been a little floppy, so we did them in the air fryer until we had them the way we liked.

Bacon and Eggs with Toast ๐Ÿฅ“๐Ÿณ

Breakfast (at 12:30PM). Normally, we have a machine that makes Egg McMuffin-esque breakfast sandwiches that we put pre-cooked bacon into. We decided that it was cheaper to buy a bunch of uncooked bacon, and pre-cook it ourselves, but then we had to figure out what to do with all the bacon grease. Decided to use it to fry up some eggs instead of dumping it.

Texan Beef Enchiladas with Applewood Charred Corn Sauce ๐Ÿ„๐Ÿซ“๐ŸŒฝ

The corn sauce was surprisingly tangy, but the barbecue sauce in the beef balanced it out surprisingly well.

One of the more simple recipes. Sometimes simple is good.

Went a little bit off-recipe again. Since we still had a bunch of leftover bacon grease, and I don't know how long it'll keep in the fridge, we substituted that for butter.

It was a good call.

This was one of the vegetarian options. I'm always a little nervous about how they'll go over, but my concerns were entirely unfounded. We will be making this again.

Seared Middle Eastern-Spiced Chicken Tenders with Sheet Pan Veggies and Garlic Sauce ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿง…๐Ÿฅ’๐Ÿง„

We were going to go with the sloppy joes today, but @Katy Lamothe's stomach wasn't feeling up to it, so we went with this one instead.

I have no regrets.

Cheesy BBQ Sloppy Joes with Tomato and Baby Greens Salad ๐Ÿง€๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ…๐Ÿฅ—

These were the sloppy joes we were originally going to have last night. The emphasis was definitely on the sloppy part. My salad ended up having an intriguing meat sauce all over it. ๐Ÿ™‚

Caribbean-Style Island Beef and Veggie Bowls with Golden Rice ๐Ÿ„๐Ÿซ‘๐Ÿš

This one was not listed as "spicy" but we did find that it had a bit of a heat that built as we ate it. It was a pleasant surprise.

Smoky Poblano Chili with Cheesy Croutons and Sour Cream ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ

This one was another vegeterian dish, and it didn't disappoint. The ciabatta buns that came in the kit had actually gone mouldy, but they were sealed in plastic and the rest was fine. Nothing a quick trip to the grocery store couldn't fix.

The end result was delightful.

We were going to do another vegetarian recipe today, but @Katy Lamothe decided she wanted meat tonight. This was a pretty simple recipe, but the flavours really played well together.

Another vegetarian recipe today. It's actually rather nice to not have to handle raw meat when preparing the food.

Anyhow, my first bite was rather tortilla-forward, and I was worried that they were only going to be so-so tasting. Those fears were completely unfounded.

For the record, I do know how to spell bean.

Cheese Omlette with Bacon and English Muffin ๐Ÿง€๐Ÿณ๐Ÿฅ“

@Katy Lamothe really wanted a cheese omlette today. We only had those processed cheese slices, but I work with what I've got. Would've been better with real cheese, but it was decent.

I took a picture of Katy's plate, because hers came out looking nicer than mine.

Sweet Firecracker Turkey Meatballs with Zesty Rice ๐ŸŽ†๐Ÿฆƒ๐Ÿš

These were not as spicy as I was expecting "firecracker" turkey meatballs to be, but they were still quite flavourful. To be honest though, sometimes when food is too spicy, it tends to overwhelm the actual flavour.

The gochujang mayo gave this a nice kick, but also served as an amazing dipping sauce for the fries.

Okay. I've had people tell me that meal kits are a waste of money, but I never in a million years would've thought to mix lime juice and honey to make the sauce that was drizzled on this.

I have subscribed to so many different meal kits over the years, usually just for the discounted promo period, exactly for this little reason. Gather up a dozen or so new recipes, learn some tricks, cancel - and when I'm bored of the same old stuff, pick a new service and repeat. Looks delicious!
Chipotle Pulled Chicken Bowls with Guac and Marinated Tomatoes ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿฅ‘๐Ÿ…

Let me paint you a picture with my words. This dish was such a perfect balance of sour and salty with just a hint of spiciness. I was worried that we might've overcooked the chicken, but it just melted in my mouth.

I definitely want to make this one again.

Long before I even tasted this one, I expected by the way it smelled that it was going to be amazing. I was not mistaken.

Somewhere on the internet, I believe I saw someone make a candle out of strained / filtered bacon grease. So when you light ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ the wick it smells like you're making bacon.
